Certifications
DRI International certifies individuals and provides various levels of active professional certification in a number of areas. Our certifications are the standards of excellence in business continuity management whether you are a practitioner, vendor or auditor. Certifications acknowledge an individual's effort to achieve a professional level of competency in the industry. While individuals' motives may vary, there are numerous reasons for seeking certification including personal and professional satisfaction, employer recognition and financial gain.

Certification is a two-part process: verification of knowledge and confirmation of experience. This includes:

The receipt of a passing grade to verify a candidate's knowledge of the subject matter.

An application which may be required to confirm the experience needed for a DRI International certification. This will be reviewed by the Commission.

​Career Tracks
​Upgrading
No Re-Examination Required
If you hold a current DRI International certification in good standing, you do not need to re-take the Qualifying Examination to upgrade your certification to the CFCP or CBCP level.
If you wish to apply for the Healthcare Provider Continuity certifications, you must take and receive a passing score on the Healthcare Examination. If you wish to apply for the Public Sector Continuity certifications, you must take and receive a passing score on the Public Sector Examination. If you wish to apply for the Audit certifications, you must take and receive a passing score on the Audit Examination. If you wish to apply for the MBCP certification, you must take and receive a passing score on the Master’s Case Study Examination.

Retired (Ret.) Status

Certification Retirement status provides a means for professionals to maintain certification for periods of time when they are not working directly in the field or if they are retiring from the industry.
